Spring

Their eyes begin to close for they are used
to too many winters.
When the seasons change too quickly there's
a whole new reason for remaining tight.

They shut themselves completely to preserve
the energy within them
and when spring comes they are splintered
by the light.

Dancing and redeeming their frosty borders
they come out
to greet and meet and know and love you;
you wonder how they get it by.

4Seasons is the first section of  Traces: A Study of Glances

Summer

S
     talking about the need to devour
     what have we for lunch
 'xcept for a comic strip
 or a deserted launch
          of some rocket some
                         where;
     I hunger for fire
                           in flames
            and dazzled bits
of burnt wood and
whole terrains filled with
                     nothing but frozen lilies
              sizzling to non-
                                     existence;

     who can quench my hunger
                                                                      s

Autumn

          like a tear -
release, or falling into your arms
after spinning 'round and 'round
                   and
i want to shy into nothingness and
be free and pretend i did not see
                                      those
             things

Winter

Pausing for breath,
       white flakes falling
       every where;

I am sitting, breathing,
       toes curling, seeing.
       I   see  I   am.

I feel my mouth receiving,
       my neck streaming with
       energy afforded for my living.
